A packet with raffle order forms and other information went home in backpacks on Friday, February 9.
The PTA has planned a fun day full of attractions, raffles and yummy snacks.
All food and games are paid for with tickets. Games are 1-3 tickets per turn and food items will cost you 2-7 per item. Tickets are 5 for $1 before the event or 4 for $1 on the day of. Unlimited game play wristbands are available for pre-purchase for $15. Buying the day of the Carnival will bring the price up to $17.
Forest Hills Council of PTAs and PTOs is thrilled to offer a complimentary showing of "Screenagers" to the parents and students of our schools on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Nagel Middle School's cafetorium. Studies are showing an undeniable link between the increased use of devices and the decline in mental health among young people; the subject of screen time is a tough topic but a very important one.

Gentlemen of Sherwood, it's time to treat your favorite young Archer to a night on the town. Join the Sherwood PTA for the Enchanted Garden Ball on Friday, February 23, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Sherwood girls are encouraged to invite the most important male adult in their life for a night of music and dancing. It's a great chance to bond and take pictures.
The cost is $5.00 per person and include refreshments, snack, dancing and a photo to take home.

The Sherwood Fuel Up to Play 60 wellness team is hoping to promote an active lifestyle at the 4th Annual Family Fitness Night on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Bring your family up to Sherwood for a night of activity, movement, and fun!
We will have games, obstacle courses, relay races, dancing, and more. The night is FREE and full of fun.
The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. See you there!
The PTA’s next meeting will be Tuesday, January 16 at 7 p.m. in the Sherwood Media Center.
All parents/guardians of Sherwood students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Joining the PTA meeting will be employees of Child Focus. They will be talking about kids’ mental health, especially depression and anxiety. This will be a discussion you don’t want to miss.
Sherwood has 10 Destination Imagination teams this year and we are looking for 10 people to volunteer to be an appraiser for the competition on February 3.
Appraiser are like judges. In order to be an appraiser, you must attend a training session at Nagel Middle School on January 20, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Appraisers must be at least 18 years old and out of high school.

Presented by Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Operation: Street Smart, is a collaborative effort between D.A.R.E. & the Special Investigations Unit.
This will be held at the Anderson Center January 5, 2018. 9 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
It is conducted by undercover detectives, who possess more than 50 years of combined narcotics experience.
The target audience includes: first responders, healthcare workers, school faculty and staff, parents, probation officers and children's services.

Games are all quick to pick up and learn, have simplified instructions, and can be played at your own pace. Most games can be played by non-readers.
A must check-out game is Family Feud with answers supplied by Sherwood 3-6 graders. Other games include Outburst, Double Ditto, Reverse Charades, Headbandz, Yahtzee, Taboo Jr, Uno, Jenga, Apples to Apples, and more!

We’ve had a great first week of Penny Wars as we support families in our community this holiday season for 9United’s Shop & Share event.
Just a reminder, pennies are positive points for each grade, where all silver coins and dollar bills are negative points.
A fun and healthy competition for our students! Which grade will take home the bragging rights this year? Collections will continue through Tuesday, December 5.
