In Principal Hamilton's message to parents last week, he requested parent help with Destination Imagination.
Destination Imagination is an international, educational program that gives kids an amazing outlet for their creativity, while teaching them leadership, teamwork, positive thinking, project management and so much more.
Teams choose one of six open-ended Challenges and solve it in their own unique ways, and present their solutions at the Regional Tournament in March. Teams also solve an on-the-spot Instant Challenge at the tournament, where they must think quickly on their feet and work together to solve a problem in five to eight minutes.
They are looking for Parent Volunteers to Manage Team(s)
• Team Managers are like coaches. They supervise, provide resources, and teach skills, teamwork and problem solving skills.
• Materials and training are provided for Team Managers.
• Additional parents needed to assist Team and Team Managers.
We are one of the only elementary schools in Forest Hills without a Destination Imagination Team. The Forest Hills Foundation is sponsoring all of the teams across the District but we need adults from each building to lead.
