Are you ready for some football? It’s that time of year for the annual NFL Pass Punt and Kick Competition.
The competition is open for 6-13 year old Sherwood Students who are in grades 1-6, and is offered free of charge. Official competition rules are located at the following link http://www.nflppk.com/competition_rules .
Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and one place kick as part of his or her competition that will take place September 23-29 during your child’s scheduled Physical Education class. Scores are based on distance and accuracy (see official rules above). All students wanting to participate must have their parent/guardian fill out an online registration form/release of liability by September 21 unless you have prior authorization from Aaron Taylor.
Answers to common questions:
When registering your child, search for Ohio, Sherwood Elementary and use the default date as displayed (the date will read Sept. 29 even though your child will record her or her scores during their gym class).
Your child will only need to show their birth certificate if they win their age/gender division and move on to the sectional round. They do not need their birth certificate for the local Sherwood competition.
The top finisher in each the boys’ and girls’ divisions from the five age brackets of each local competition will advance to the Sectional Round, then to the Team Championship, while eventually getting a chance to go to the Bengals game. It is a great opportunity for our kids. We hope to get as many students involved as possible.
Note: The sectional date, time, and location information will be given to the winning participant. For planning purposes, sectionals are usually held on a Saturday at the end of October at an area school or park.
